Regarding George

Hey George W.: You can't run again!

Wow, I was somewhat disappointed with the Presidents State of the Union address. I thought that the reason Presidents tried to win second terms was so that they could actually do something. Not so that they could continue to bow to the other side of the aisle.

Hey, George! You don't need to pander to the radical left anymore! This is when you start "sticking it to them!" This is when you begin announcing all of the plans that you have that make them squirm because they know they can't stop you.

George Steinbrenner: Relaxing!?

Damon is apparently on the wrong team.

Johnny recently said that he thought that the Yankees would be a great place for Manny and David Ortiz to play. Saying that "if they wanted a place to relax and play then New York was the place for them." (Clearly Johnny hasn't actually met George or the New York fans. Boston made a ton of money when Yankees fans were buying our "Yankees suck" shirts early last season when they actually did!)

Hey Johnny, if you wanted to be on a team with Manny and David there is a place you could have done it: Boston! If you are regretting your move, don't try and drag our loyal players into your field of torment with you. I thought it wasn't about the money...

They do have to get through those midterm elections. Plus he has the long-term viability of the party to consider. If he tacks to the right after such a terrible couple of months, he'll lose moderates and independents.

Is the president that instrumental in the midterms?

I hear ya. Maybe next year...

pandering to the left? examples please.

I think the president should hire a disc jockey to cut and splice his previous speeches into new works. It would be far more entertaining, and would say about the same content.

Do these sound like typical Republican comments?

We will increase our research in better batteries for hybrid and electric cars and in pollution-free cars that run on hydrogen.

We will also fund additional research in cutting-edge methods of producing ethanol, not just from corn but from wood chips and stalks or switch grass.

Our goal is to make this new kind of ethanol practical and competitive within six years.

And we must have a rational, humane guest worker program that rejects amnesty, allows temporary jobs for people who seek them legally, and reduces smuggling and crime at the border.

Keeping America competitive requires affordable health care.

Our government has a responsibility to help provide health care for the poor and the elderly, and we are meeting that responsibility.

For all Americans -- for all Americans -- we must confront the rising cost of care, strengthen the doctor-patient relationship, and help people afford the insurance coverage they need.

Not saying I disagree with any/all/some, just saying that he's speaking from the other side of the ailse on these issues.
