Recently, I was having a discussion regarding cars named after animals. The members of the conversation were able to come up with the following:
Ford Mustang
Dodge Ram
Dodge Viper
Chevy Impala (does this one count?)
Jaguar
VW Rabbit
VW Bug
Can anyone think of any others?

Turaeg (spelling is off). It means shark, I believe.
Ford Falcon? Or was that AMC?
How about the AMC Gremlin? Does that count?
There was also a Barracuda. Though I don't remember the make. It was a sixties muscle car though.
correction to BG:
i don't know the origin of the toureg. so i won't say you're wrong. but, the hyundai tiburon DOES mean shark in spanish. is this possilby the car you were thinking of?
oh and mine is the AMC eagle, baby! 4wd station wagon. what can be better?
welcome, marc. glad to have you aboard.
Yes, Cade, you are absolutely right, that's the car I was thinking of. I'm a girl-what the hell do I know about cars? :)
I do remember the commercial for the Tiburon now-it showed a car driving off a dock and going underwater and fish swimming away from it and there was a tiny disclaimer at the bottom that said, "Caution: Car does not drive underwater." I kid you not.
That ad reminds me of the ad for an SUV. This soccer mom is in a parking lot and one space is available. She's in an SUV and a stationwagon pulls up next to her so they race for the spot. The station wagon has to take the road but the SUV goes over the mulch-filled medians. The fine print in that one said,"closed course, do not attempt. No parking space is this important." Then once the SUV pulls in ahead of the Station wagon the fine print says, "Ok, maybe it is, but still don't do this."
