Forget Change!

ATHF: A year ago, we were admonished to

and we must not. Seven cities were the victims of this heartless advertising campaign and only one (Boston) had the courage enough to freak out beyond reason. Bostonians can rest assured; should another rogue company attempt to advertise in their city, the vile perpetrators will be arrested and heavily fined.

Also, let this serve as a warning to any and all moon beings that think they can come here and terrorize us with their funny little movies, and inventive PR. We will have none of it.

I, for one, will never forget!

The Election: I have a question for a few of the people running for President. Namely, the people whose major talking point is "Changing Washington." I've heard this sentiment primarily from two different sources: Hillary and Barrak. (McCain also fits the next qualifications for answering this question, but I haven't heard the "change" mantra from him...) Now, both of these people are Senators. Which means they are both in Washington. So here's my question:

What, exactly, would be changing about Washington if one of them were to simply move their office?

Besides, of course, the person who would take their place in the Senate. Sounds to me like these two people are encouraging everyone to vote for someone not currently in Washington. A current or former Governor, perhaps? A retired Senator? A non-political candidate? I'm not really sure, but I can tell you this: I'm fairly certain I'm going to be taking their advice and voting for someone who will actually change the face of Washington, not just move their stuff.

Your post totally begs the question: Who are you voting for on Super Tuesday? I know, I know, it's obviously a Republican, but your options are dwindling...and then there were four...

Don't forget Romney. His entire campaign is about how Washington is broken.

True regarding Romney, but he isn't currently in Washington. The question is more how will Washington actually change if all the Senators do is move their stuff from a square office to an oval one. People not currently part of the "Washington Problem" can talk about changing/fixing/altering all they want, they're not there.

I still think (if he's still on the ballot) that I'd offer my vote to I <3 Huckabee.

Tax Hike Mike? Pretends to be conservative but acts liberal, destroyed computer files before he left office in Arkansas, dropped out of seminary Huckabee? Really??? Is it because he's the current chosen one for the evangelical right because he claims to be pro-life and a Christian, because there is another candidate in the mix who holds the same beliefs. If you don't know who it is, you haven't done your homework. ;)

I must say I'm surprised you didn't say McCain. Wasn't he your pick not too far back? So you seriously would not consider a candidate if they have been or are geographically in Washington? Why that would suddenly negate any candidate's viability to legitimately run for office is beyond me.

Sorry about your Patriots losing the Super Bowl against the Giants. Now we can only hope and pray that a Patriot will win Super Tuesday against the Giants...

I like "tax hike" Mike because of his visionary concept of taxing comsumption rather than production. I'm all for dismantling the IRS. The "temporary" Income tax has long overstayed it's welcome.

I was actually a little skeeved that he preached a few Sundays ago. So, no, it's not the religious right stamp of approval that leads me to lean towards Huckabee. (Don't really see what dropping out of seminary has to do with anything...)

Another candidate who claims to be a pro-life Christian? Could that be Obama? The "pro-life" candidate who wouldn't veto a partial birth abortion bill? Or is there someone else?

Don't get me wrong. I'm not heart broken that McCain seems to be winning. I like him, but I just like Huck better.

I'm not negating voting for someone in Washington. I'm asking the candidates in Washington what would change if all they do is move their things. Mostly questioning the "Change Washington" mantra if you are already part of the problem.

Here is the answer to the mind-bending riddle of the candidate who is a Christian & pro-life:

More food for thought:

And about the dropping out of seminary thing, it's not so much that but that Huckabee claimed multiple times to have a theology degree and then his research director said he in fact did not, and that he only spent a year in seminary. Yikes.

And then there's the whole relationship with prosperity televangelist Kenneth Copeland. Double yikes.

But hey, now he's got the official evangelical right stamp of approval from Dobson, but only AFTER Romney dropped out and Super Tuesday was over. Triple yikes? LOL

Hey, Ron Paul is my guy! For sure. I'm all for a libertarian in the white house. And the Left loves him because he's an isolationist and wants to get out of Iraq ASAP. However, I don't see how he could possibly win (Huckabee either... I think the right is voting for the most electable candidate, not the one they like the most).

Dobson also had on the FOTF website that Romney "admits that Mormonism isn't a Christian religion." Romney denys this but said he doesn't mind it (because more religious right will vote for him because of it.) quadruple yikes!

Wait a minute...you mean Huckabee (not Romney) "admits that Mormonism isn't a Christian religion" and denies it but doesn't mind it. Slip o' the fingers on the keyboard, eh? :P

Regarding Ron Paul's so-called isolationism: "It is not we non-interventionists who are isolationists. The real isolationists are those who impose sanctions and embargos on countries and peoples across the globe... and who choose to use force overseas to promote democracy... a counterproductive approach that actually leads the U.S. to be more resented and more isolated in the world." Brilliant.

I did indeed vote for Ron Paul on Super Tuesday. Some of my friends and family voted for him too. I've heard it said that America is too stupid to vote for Ron Paul, the only true statesman in this race who truly respects and upholds the Constitution. I want to hold out hope for Ron Paul, but after this week's antics with Romney supporting McCain and throwing his delegates at him, I think America IS too stupid to vote for Ron Paul.

So...any bets on how long our empire will hang around before fading away into history? LOL
